th ef 50mm 1.4 …
th ef 50mm 1.4 seeems good and is affordable a ot of professional photographers use it as a gneral purpose lens
The ef 50m 1.8 is even more affordable.

Get the 17-85 kit …
Get the 17-85 kit if you can it has more zoom and is better in low light situations,]
Its MUCH better than the 18-55.
Get a reversing ring for macro shots ,close ups.
The other lens I’d recommend is the new 70-300mm with “IS” Image stabilzation NOT the old 75-300 but these lenses are expensive. The old EF 75-300 is good for extra zoom at mid range though and relatively cheap but has to be held totally still.

I disagreed. Though he didn’t get to far into the details of the camera, I would rather have an amature watch this video than many other non professional review videos on Youtube. Seriously, there are some really stupid people on Youtube, and this guy isn’t one.

I obviously wrote it wrong - I meant expected successor for D40/D40x - the D60…
In the end I went for the 400D - thanks to release of 450D you can get some nice deals…

I own a 400D and I thought it was a pretty good review…Even though I knew the features, it was a good watch and the guy knows what he’s talking about.
Furthermore, “either D40, its expected successor, 400D …”
Please explain to me why a NIKON D40 is the successor to a CANON 400D? Normally I would put this down to a simple typo, but seeing as you “have experience with 350D, 5D and some higher-end Canon 35mm EOS…” I assume you know something I don’t.

I would sudgest to get a Sigma 70-300 apo dg Macro for your first telephoto Lens.. You can get it for around $200 as well..
I’m using it and it’s way better than the 70-300 of Canon consumer lens..
