Very bad comparison …
Very bad comparison… it really gave me the impression that these guys are sponsored by Canon! This should be a Canon 450d review, not a comparison.

Agree. Some features like eye detector is also available on D60. But the commenter gave me the feeling that it is available on 450D only.

The canon has …
The canon has better picture quality at higher ISO settings compared to the Olympus, and the CMOS canon sensor creates less noise than the 4/3 system Olympus uses.
But i prefer the Olympus 520. The sensor IS makes it cheaper than having lens built IS so every lens Olympus has will be image stabilized.

I’ve always been a fan of Nikon over Canon. I’ve used a D40 before and really liked the pictures it took.

Alright, there is …
Alright, there is no way for someone to tell you what better is. I’m a salesman at Circuit City and a photographer my whole life, along with my father, another photographer. The words “Better, best” is an opinion, so the only way that you can decide which is better is by actually playing around with the camera. I personally like the Nikon’s but the Canon’s do a job well done too. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the sony alphas, or Olympus cams because they have small image sensors..

The XSi looks nice. …
The XSi looks nice. It’s cool that Canon has made a dSLR with many of the “higher end” features at such an affordable price.
However, I shoot Nikon, because I prefer the ergonomics. I just could never get used to the layout of Canon’s buttons and what not, and that’s a very important aspect of any camera, to me.

Is that in the US? …
Is that in the US? Here in Australia, the camera’s are AUD$1200 the difference. And given that price difference, you really only get marginally better specifications. But the D300 is definitely better, there’s no doubt about that.

actually, body only …
actually, body only the 40d is around 1,000$, whereby the d300 body only is 1,700$, and that’s a big difference Shawn..

Horrendously Biased review, information is sketchy at best!
The ergonomics have been tweaked because there were not great, to say the least, the 450D grip feels way to small in my small hands, just lacks that confidence and grip.
He makes some of those features sound like they are not on the 60D, and a 3″ LCD… just more power to use, and I find that it can be hard to glance at large screen.
Also I have yet to find a photographer who prefers the equivalent Canon menu system, be it a 450D or a 1D!
Nikon kit lenses are of far superior Quality to Canon, their bodies are better built too.
Canon have a great package here, but after using the 400D extensively, and the 450D for a while, if I wanted a first DSLR the D60 would get my money, hands down.
And finally, its a 2.5″ screen, get your facts right, no way I would subscribe to the magazine if they don’t know their facts.
