I could ’see’ that the subtitles would be visible in HD, or in a decent quality mpeg - but they still seemed a bit ’scrawny’ for me. Just a pet hate of mine - subtitles that can’t be read unless you’ve 20/20 vision or are sitting with your nose to the screen.

The subtitle is an expression of ‘the perfect image’ which is probably intended for HDTV. The practical subtitle which are usually in yellow would express a whole different feeling.

Uh, what are you talking about? I can read the subtitles perfectly. You DO realize that Youtube transcodes all videos which cuases a loss in quality. This is completely out of the hands of Canon, and is not ironic at all. Perhaps you should click the “watch in high quality” link just below the video window?
